Chemical Peeling: What You Need to Know About Exfoliating

Chemisches Peeling: Was du über Exfoliating wissen musst

It's finally here: our Naked Pink Exfoliating Mask . An effective chemical peeling with AHA and BHA acids for particularly soft and radiant skin. In this article, we'll explain exactly how it works and what you should definitely pay attention to when exfoliating.

What does exfoliation mean?

Exfoliation is a skincare term that refers to the removal of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. These dead skin cells can clog pores, make the complexion look dull and uneven, and even cause acne. By removing these cells, the skin is renewed and regenerated, resulting in a fresher, brighter and smoother appearance and preventing blemishes. Exfoliation can be done manually with a rough exfoliating product, or chemically by using acid-based exfoliants such as AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) or BHA (beta hydroxy acids).

How does our exfoliating mask work?

Our Exfoliating Mask contains natural ingredients that combine triple care for impure skin: peeling, moisture and protection to gently remove dead skin cells and stimulate skin renewal at the same time. The fruit acids contained penetrate deep into the skin and free it from excess sebum and clogged pores. The AHA complex works in the upper layers of the skin, while the salicylic acid can penetrate deeper and thus ensures an effective peeling result. Glyceric acid and bisabolol help to reduce redness and prevent skin irritation. The 5-fold moisture complex, consisting of glycerin, pentylene glycol, betaine, biosaccharide gum and hyaluronic acid, helps against signs of dehydration. The mask therefore has a nourishing, moisturizing effect and ensures a beautiful glow.

How to use them

Apply the mask once a week to your cleansed facial skin, avoiding the eye area, and leave it on for 5 minutes. If you are using a chemical peel for the first time, you should reduce the exposure time to 2-3 minutes. It should then be completely rinsed off with warm water. We recommend using the mask in the evening.

For whom is the peeling particularly suitable?

Our Exfoliating Mask is suitable for all skin types and is especially suitable for those with dull, blemished or acne-prone skin. The mask can also help with discolouration or hyperpigmentation as it can help remove dead skin cells and improve the appearance of the skin.

What should you pay attention to when exfoliating?

When exfoliating, it is important to keep a few things in mind to avoid unwanted skin irritation or damage:

  • Be sure to follow the directions and only use the scrub once a week. Excessive exfoliation can irritate and dry out your skin.
  • When using acid peels for the first time, you should reduce the application time to a maximum of 2-3 minutes and then you can increase it continuously.
  • Do not use the peeling on irritated, injured or sunburned skin.
  • Do not use the peeling near your eyes or on sensitive skin areas such as lips or mucous membranes.
  • Always use sunscreen in the first 24 hours after application, as the skin is thinner and more sensitive to sunlight and UV rays after using the peeling.
  • Rinse the scrub thoroughly with warm water and then follow with a mild moisturizer to soothe and hydrate your skin.
  • AHA and BHA acids should generally not be combined directly with vitamin C. Please make sure that you do not apply a vitamin C product on the day of use.

Can the peeling be used together with other products?

You can combine it very well with other products from the Naked, Cactus or Sensitive range, but not with all of them. It is okay to use the mask in combination with our Micellar Cleansing Water and a moisturizer, as they help to cleanse, hydrate and nourish the skin. However, you should not use any other exfoliating products immediately before or after applying the Exfoliating Mask and you should avoid our Glow Boosting Face Serum with Vitamin C. If you use the Exfoliating Mask in the evening, it is okay to use a Vitamin C serum again from the next morning.

What is the difference between the Exfoliating Mask and the Enzyme Peeling?

Pink Exfoliating Mask : Chemical fruit acid peeling with AHA and BHA for deep cleansing. Especially for impure skin and people who have experience with chemical peelings. Application: once a week.
